Assessing and responding to existing, emerging and changing community needs through grants to eligible organizations. The BIRD Team of volunteers runs the depot located on Mt. Gardner Rd. beside the Highways Works yard. A team of volunteers and part-time coordinator operates one of the most cost-efficient recycling operations in B.C.! The depot is closed every Monday. Now collecting: tin cans, glass bottles (no window glass), cardboard, newsprint, mixed paper, batteries (small household dry-cell only), plastic (white, opaque).

Founded Nov.2000, we are a charitable, non-profit, volunteer organization that cares about the welfare of Bowen's pets, strays, and wildlife. We capture strays for sterilization; find foster and adoptive homes for abandoned animals; offer food and sanctuary to strays and wildlife; reunite pets with families; and offer guidance to the community.
